UI Hospitals And Clinics Administrator Named To National Quality Board
An administrative leader at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics recently accepted an invitation to serve on the 2006 board of examiners for the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award.
Deborah Thoman, compliance and privacy officer in the Joint Office for Compliance at UI Hospitals and Clinics, has agreed to serve in the prestigious post.
The Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award is responsible for making quality a national priority and disseminating best practices across the United States. The Baldrige Quality Award has played an important role in helping thousands of companies improve their products and services, customer satisfaction, bottom line, and overall performance. It also provides evidence of the link between quality and performance.
Selection to the board of examiners is a competitive process.
"This appointment is a tremendous honor and speaks to the national recognition of Ms. Thoman's expertise in evaluating performance management systems," said Donna Katen-Bahensky, director and CEO of UI Hospitals and Clinics.
