UI Poets Manguso And Johnson Read April 27

Poets Sarah Manguso and Kimberly Johnson, alumnae of the University of Iowa Writers' Workshop, will read from their new collections at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 27, in the Prairie Lights bookstore at 15 S. Dubuque St. in downtown Iowa City.

Manguso whose first book, "The Captain Lands in Paradise," was a Village Voice Favorite Book of the Year, will read from her second collection of poems, "Siste Viator."

Johnson will read from "Leviathan With a Hook," her first collection of poems, about which Allen Grossman commented, "Her wonder gives you the world and starts thought."

The Writers' Workshop is a graduate program of the UI College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.
