Special Motorcycle Road Rally To Benefit Children's Hospital of Iowa

Motorcycle enthusiasts will hold a special road rally event Saturday, June 4 in Cedar Rapids to benefit Children's Hospital of Iowa at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.

Registration for riders will occur from noon to 1 p.m. at the Altorfer CAT store, located at 2600 6th St. SW in Cedar Rapids. Following their ride from 1 to 3 p.m., the riders will gather at Hawkeye Downs. The event is open to the public.

Tickets are $10 per person in advance at the Altorfer store and $15 per person at the Hawkeye Downs gate June 4. Kids age 10 and under will enter free of charge with a paid adult admission. In addition to the display of motorcycles, Scott Wimmer's #22 Dodge Caterpillar NASCAR will be on hand. Attendees will also enjoy live music from Exit and participate in a Caterpillar equipment rodeo.

The motorcycle display will feature the Caterpillar Chopper Bike. The custom chopper, built by Orange County Choppers, Inc. and highlighted in special episodes of Discovery Channel's hit series "American Chopper," is now taking part in a yearlong tour of North America.

As part of the tour, the CAT Chopper will visit more than 30 CAT dealers across North America, including the Altorfer store in Davenport, on Sunday, June 5. The Chopper Tour is making additional stops at Caterpillar facilities and community events throughout the year to raise awareness of the company and its full line of products and services.
