Students Win NSF Graduate Fellowships

(Name) of (hometown), who earned a (name of degree, college university and year), has won a 2005-06 National Science Foundation (NSF) Graduate Fellowship Award to pursue graduate studies at the University of Iowa College of Engineering.

The award consists of an annual $27,500 stipend, plus tuition and discretionary funds for up to three years of support.

The four were among some 1,000 winners nationwide. Many of the NSF Fellowships were awarded to students in engineering, with others coming from the natural sciences and such fields as anthropology, sociology, economics, political science and the history and philosophy of science.

Cynthia Hoppe, bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from the Colorado School of Mines, Golden, Colo. in 1992.

Clinton
Esther Gassman, bachelor's degree in biomedical engineering from the University of Iowa College of Engineering in 2005.

Iowa City
Adina Chuang, bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Purdue University in 2003.

NORTH DAKOTA

Fargo
Curtis Voss, bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from North Dakota State University in 2005.
