Classical Indian Musicians Will Appear On KSUI August 5
"Know the Score LIVE!" returns to the University of Iowa Museum of Art (UIMA) for its next broadcast on KSUI, 91.7 FM (101.7 FM in Dubuque), 5-7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 5.
After being on the road during the summer, the program, part of the weekly arts and humanities series hosted by Joan Kjaer on KSUI, returns to the Lasansky Gallery and the Nancy and Craig Willis Atrium of the UIMA, its home base for most of the year.
A duo of classical Indian musicians will be the guests for the Aug. 5 program, which will take place before a live audience and will be broadcast over KSUI at that time as well as 3-5 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 7, and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 10. You may also listen to the broadcast on the Internet at http://ksui.uiowa.edu.
Musicians Praful Kelkar and Subhasis Mukherjee appeared on "Know the Score" two years ago, in a program broadcast from the banks of the Iowa River outside the UIMA.
"Their performance two years ago was so stunning we couldn't wait to bring them back," Kjaer commented. "This time we'll hold the concert inside the museum, avoiding any worries about changeable weather."
M.C. Ginsberg Objects of Art, Inc. of Iowa City is the corporate sponsor of "Know the Score LIVE!" broadcasts.
UI radio station KSUI is on the World Wide Web at http://ksui.uiowa.edu/.
The UI Museum of Art, located on North Riverside Drive in Iowa City, is open noon to 9 p.m. Fridays. Admission is free to the museum and to the "Know the Score LIVE!" broadcast. Public metered parking is available in UI parking lots west and north of the museum.
