UI Sports Medicine Center To Tell Supplement Truths
Specialists with the University of Iowa Sports Medicine Center will present a special, free seminar on the use of supplements by athletes for strength building and conditioning from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 4 in the UI Sports Medicine Center at UI Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.
Presenters include UI Sports Medicine experts Chris Doyle, strength and conditioning coach for the Iowa Hawkeye football team, and Paul Baumert, M.D., consultant with the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency and a UI team physician.
The panel will field questions from the audience and cover topics such as:
-- Overview of supplements
-- Sports supplements -- what is legal?
-- How to combine supplements with exercise
-- What you can, should, and should not use
