Office Of General Counsel Review Now Available
A review of the University of Iowa's Office of General Counsel has been completed and is available for public viewing online at http://www.uiowa.edu/~facsen/AdminReviews/OGCReview.pdf
The report was prepared by a committee of faculty and staff appointed last spring by UI President David Skorton to review the university's Office of General Counsel and suggest ways to improve the office's operations. The committee reviewed the office and its responsibilities and offers 18 suggestions to help its transition under current counsel Mark Schantz and his successor, who will take over after Schantz retires later this year.
"I thank the committee for their excellent work in providing such a thorough review of the Office of the General Counsel, their incisive analysis and thoughtful recommendations," said Skorton, who will extensively review the final report and its suggestions before taking final action.
The committee was composed of David Baldus (chair), Lois Cox and Peggie Smith from the College of Law; Barbara Eckstein of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences; Bill Osborne, Matt Rizzo and Catherine Solow from the Carver College of Medicine; and Judie Hermsen from the Department of Human Resources.
