Nonprofit Management Academy To Present Strategic Management Seminar
The Nonprofit Management Academy announces the sixth monthly seminar in its yearlong series for 2004-05. "Strategic Management" will be presented on Thursday, Jan. 20, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the Coral Ridge Mall Community Room, 1451 Coral Ridge Avenue, in Coralville.
This seminar will focus on basic principles of strategic planning for nonprofit organizations. Participants will explore the techniques to develop and evaluate a strategic position for an agency while examining the environment in which it operates. They will also learn how to involve boards of directors in developing the organization's mission and in planning to effectively deploy resources and implement change.
The trainers for the session are Regenia Bailey, former executive director of the Iowa Women's Foundation, and Jeff Zacharakis-Jutz, community development specialist with the Iowa State University Extension.
The fee for the seminar is $50, and CEU credits are available. Participants may enroll in individual courses or in a program leading to a Certificate in Nonprofit Management.
The Nonprofit Management Academy is a joint project sponsored by the Women's Resource and Action Center (WRAC) and the Iowa Nonprofit Resource Center at the UI, Iowa State University Extension, United Way of Johnson County, Iowa Shares, and the Iowa Women's Foundation.
