UI Hosts Iowa Junior Science And Humanities Symposium Feb. 24-25

(Student name) of (hometown/high school) will present a paper titled (title of presentation) at the 43rd annual Iowa Junior Science and Humanities Symposium Feb. 24-25 at the University of Iowa and the Sheraton Iowa City Hotel.

The symposium will feature 18 student research presentations to 200 Iowa high school delegates and 30 teachers from across the state. Two keynote speakers -- Gregory Gray, professor of epidemiology, and Russell Ciochon, professor of anthropology -- will speak on Thursday and Friday, respectively. In addition to the research presentations, student delegates will tour laboratories in the following areas: biological sciences, chemistry, engineering, computer science, dental research, hydraulics, nursing, pathology, physics and astronomy, and the Iowa Geological Survey.

The symposium is coordinated by the UI Office of Opportunity at Iowa, with funding from the U.S. Army Research Office, the Office of Naval Research, the Air Force Office of Scientific Research and the Academy of Applied Science, Inc.
