Elementary-School Artists In Hancher Exhibition Will Be Honored Feb. 27
Iowa City elementary-school artists whose work is now on exhibit in the lobby of the University of Iowa Hancher Auditorium will be honored in a reception 2-4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 27. The reception, hosted by the volunteers of Hancher Guild, is free and free refreshments will be available.
The 22nd annual Children's Art Exhibit will be on display during all events in Hancher through March 9. The exhibition, selected and mounted by Iowa City's elementary art teachers, will also be available for viewing during regular business hours of the Hancher Showcase gift shop: 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Wednesdays.
Among the many media on exhibition are paintings, drawings, collages, metal tooling and weaving.

Performances in Hancher during the exhibition are: the Moiseyev Dance Company at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 16, the UI Symphony Band at 8 p.m. Feb. 19, the Honor Band at 2:30 p.m. Feb. 20, the University Symphony Orchestra at 8 p.m. Feb. 23, Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo at 8 p.m. Feb. 26, Brad Mehldau and Joe Lovano at 8 p.m. March 1, the National Acrobats of Taiwan at 7:30 p.m. March 3, the Soweto Gospel Choir at 2 p.m. March 6 and the Prague Symphony Orchestra with Navah Perlman at 8 p.m. March 9.
The University of Iowa Community Credit Union is the sponsor of the exhibition, through the University of Iowa Foundation.
