Fans Asked To Help Make Hawks No. 1 In And Around Kinnick

University of Iowa President David Skorton and Kirk Ferentz, head coach of the UI football team, are asking Hawkeye fans to cooperate in following safety guidelines in and around Kinnick Stadium this season.

"We're excited about the upcoming season, and we know that our fans have great expectations," Ferentz said. "I'm pleased that at least one sports publication has rated Kinnick Stadium as the best college football venue. Let's prove that's really the case by making the game-day experience one that entire families can enjoy."

"The loyalty and enthusiasm of Hawk fans are amazing," Skorton said. "Their respect for the team and for the game is immense. We're asking that fans demonstrate the same respect for the private property of the people living in the Kinnick neighborhood and beyond."

Ferentz and Skorton noted that fans can help by observing the Big Ten Conference Fans' Creed: "Wear school colors with pride; cheer at the top of your lungs; sing our school song off-key; respect conference traditions; support our team, win or lose; and treat our visitors with respect."

There will be no exceptions. Students entering Kinnick will have their hands stamped upon entry and will be required to display the hand stamp and ticket stub when entering sections A, B in the west stands and sections 117, 119,121, 217,218,219,220,221 in the south end zone.
