UI Student Wins Graduate College Sanxay Prize

The University of Iowa Graduate College has awarded UI senior Jeremy Decker the Sanxay Prize, which is awarded annually to a senior in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences who shows promise of high achievement in graduate studies and who is an Iowa native. It includes $1,000 to be used for graduate school at the UI or any other accredited university in the United States or abroad.

Decker, a Gowrie native and a 2001 graduate of Prairie Valley High School, will graduate in May with a bachelor's degree in anthropology. He will begin graduate work in archaeology at Northern Arizona University in the fall. Decker is the son of Lynne Decker of Gowrie.

Decker was honored at the Graduate Honors Award Ceremony on April 17.
