UI WISE Program Awards Travel Grants
The University of Iowa Women in Science and Engineering (WISE) program has announced the spring semester 2005 award recipients of its Dr. Eunice Schuytema Beam Travel Grant Program.
The award winners, each of whom received $250 toward travel to a professional meeting to present scholarly work, are:
* Robin Ann Barry of Waterford, Michigan, a clinical psychology doctoral student in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, delivered an oral presentation, "Trait and Social Influences in attachment," at the International Association for Relationship Research Conference in Madison July 22-25, 2004.
* Alina Bejan of Romania, a computer science doctoral student in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, delivered an oral presentation, "Self-Optimizing DHT's Using Request Profiling," at the OPODIS 8th International Conference of Principles of Distributed Systems in Grenoble, France, Dec. 14-17 2004.
* Ying Kang of China, a medicinal chemistry doctoral student in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, delivered an oral presentation, "Total Synthesis of the Highly Potent Anti-HIV Natural Product Daurichromatic Acid and Two Chromosome Derivatives, Rhododaurichromatic Acids A&B," at the 229th ACS National Meeting, San Diego, Calif., March 13-17 2005.
