RiverFest 2005 Set For April 22-24
Comedian Dat Phan, a Taste of Iowa City, and the annual River Run road race highlight the 27th RiverFest outdoor music, food and art festival April 22-24 at Hubbard Park on the University of Iowa campus.
RiverFest 2005, which kicks off at 5 p.m. Friday, also includes KidFest, live music from numerous bands, carnival rides, and much more. KidFest offers face-painting, mask-making, a coloring contest and storytelling.
RiverFest is being held in conjunction with the Riverbank Art Fair, which runs April 23-24 on the northeast side of Hancher Auditorium's green area along the Iowa River. The art fair, which is sponsored by the UI's Fine Arts Council, features Midwestern artists exhibiting and selling their original work, including clay, drawing, painting, metal and jewelry.
Riverfest, sponsored by the UI Student Government, runs from 5 to 10 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday.
