Skorton Is Guest On April 21 'Big Brain' Public Radio Program
On April 21, University of Iowa President David Skorton will join host Ben Kieffer on "Big Brain," the public radio show that helps answer life's little questions such as "How many words for snow do the Eskimos really have?" or "Why does chocolate turn white?"
"Big Brain," a special edition of "Talk to Iowa" program on WSUI and WOI that helps you find the answers to curious queries submitted by inquiring listeners. The show is broadcast live from the Iowa City Public Library (ICPL) from 10 to 11 a.m. On the April 21 show, Kieffer and Skorton will be joined by ICPL's Maeve Clark; pianist and composer Dan Knight will be on-hand to add some live music to the mix.
The public is also invited to join the audience at the ICPL, located at 123 S. Linn St. in Iowa City. Listeners can call in with questions during the hour (toll-free 1-866-780-9100), e-mail them in advance to firstname.lastname@example.org with the subject line Big Brain or send in regular mail to WSUI/KSUI, 710 S. Clinton, Iowa City, IA 52246.
Listeners with especially thought-provoking questions will be honored with a "Big Brainiac Award" and receive a free Live Java Blend CD.
"Big Brain" is broadcast on the University of Iowa's public radio station, WSUI (AM910), and the WOI Radio Group (AM640) at Iowa State University. It can also be heard live on-line via the WSUI Web site at http://wsui.uiowa.edu.
