Iowa Caucuses Play Role In Oct. 5 WSUI Reading By Stephen Elliott
Stephen Elliott will read from his political memoir "Looking Forward to It" -- based on his experiences covering the Iowa-caucus and New Hampshire-primary campaigns -- at 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 5 on the "Live from Prairie Lights" series on University of Iowa radio station WSUI, AM 910.
The reading, hosted by Julie Englander, will be a free event at the Prairie Lights bookstore at 15 S. Dubuque St. in downtown Iowa City. Listen on the Internet at http://wsui.uiowa.edu.
Elliott, who also manages a political weblog at http://www.stephenelliott.com, subtitled his memoir "or how I learned to stop worrying and love the American political process," a reference to the subtitle of Stanley Kubrick's iconic 1964 anti-war film "Dr. Strangelove, or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb." For a preview of the new book, which was partly written during Elliott's time in Iowa City, visit http://www.mcsweeneys.net/authorpages/elliott/elliott8.html.
Elliott is the author of four novels, including "Happy Baby," which was published in hardback in 2004 and will be released in paperback in 2005.
