UI Hospitals And Clinics CEO Serving On Heartland Affiliate Board
Donna Katen-Bahensky, director and chief executive officer of University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, recently began her first term as a board member of the American Heart Association's Heartland Affiliate Board.
Katen-Bahensky assumed her post at UI Hospitals and Clinics in August 2002. Prior to her arrival in Iowa City, she held the positions of executive vice president and chief operating officer (COO) at the Medical College of Virginia Hospitals and Clinics of the Virginia Commonwealth University Health System. She also previously served as vice president for ambulatory care at the Nebraska Health System, and as vice chancellor for business and finance and COO at the University of Nebraska Medical Center.
Currently, Katen-Bahensky also serves on the board of directors for the University HealthSystem Consortium and as a clinical professor in the UI College of Public Health. In addition, she is a member of the Board of Directors for Iowa State Bank and Trust, the Iowa City Area Development Advisory Council and the Iowa City Noon Rotary.
Katen-Bahensky, a graduate of the University of Missouri-Columbia, lives in Iowa City with her husband, Jim, and son, Alex.
