UI Libraries To Hold Annual Fall Book Sale
The UI Libraries will hold its annual used book sale from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 23 on the second floor of the Main Library, with proceeds going to the Libraries' acquisitions fund. Shoppers are asked to use the north entrance and follow the signs to the second floor.
From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., most hardbound books will sell for $1 to $2 each, scholarly paperbacks for $1, and mass market paperbacks for two-for-$1. From 2 to 4 p.m., there will be a bag sale, with all books that can be fit into a paper grocery bag sold $5. Bags are provided by Prairie Lights books.
Items on sale include thousands of books of literature, primarily U.S. and British; literary criticism; U.S. history; books in Russian, German, French and Spanish; junior high biography and poetry; and popular and scholarly titles in other subject areas.
There will be no advance sales or previews. Payment must be made in cash or in-state checks only. Call Chris Hunt at 319-335-5878 with questions or if special accommodations are needed on the day of the sale.
