UI Offers $10,000 Reward In Seashore Hall Vandalism Case

The University of Iowa is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or people responsible for the recent vandalism in Seashore Hall.

Anyone with information about this crime should contact the FBI at 319-366-2461, or by email at fbi-crra@leo.gov.

The UI closed Seashore Hall and Spence Laboratories Nov. 14 after vandals released animals, damaged computers, spilled chemicals and claimed they destroyed all research associated with targeted faculty in the UI Department of Psychology.

Most of Seashore Hall's offices, home to the sociology, psychology and journalism departments, reopened Monday and classes will resume there after the holiday break, on Nov. 29. However, Spence Labs will remain closed indefinitely.
