Delivery Of Giant Steel Truss Will Cause Delays On Park Road

The delivery of a 135-foot-long building truss on the University of Iowa campus will cause travel delays for motorists in Iowa City on Dubuque Street and Park Road between 9 a.m. and noon, Friday Nov. 19.

The steel truss, destined for the new art building, will arrive in two pieces by truck on Interstate 80 and proceed south on Dubuque Street, west on Park Road and south on Riverside Drive to the construction site. The intersections, especially at Park and Riverside, will experience some delays until the tractor-trailers have successfully made the turns. Motorists should avoid this intersection if possible to avoid congestion and delays. Traffic will be rerouted where possible.
