Kevin Krause Speaks On Sports Business Nov. 12
Kevin Krause, president of the Swing of the Quad Cities minor league baseball team, will speak about the business of sports at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 12 at the University of Iowa's Bedell Entrepreneurship Learning Laboratory, 322 N. Clinton St. in Iowa City.
The presentation, titled "Full Count -- A Sports Eye for the Business Guy," is co-sponsored by the John Pappajohn Entrepreneurial Center and the Sandage Charitable Trust as part of the Sandage Entrepreneurial Speaker Series.
Krause has been the president of the Swing baseball team since 1998. Prior to his position with the Swing, Krause was president of Liberty Bank and Trust located in Mason City, Iowa. From 1988-1991, Krause was the president/general manager of the Continental Basketball Association's (CBA) Cedar Rapids Silver Bullets. During his tenure, he negotiated a naming rights agreement with Coors Light, which was the largest sponsorship in CBA history.
Krause serves on the Kum and Go Board of Directors, Scott County YMCA Board, Quad Cities Junior Achievement, Friendly House and the Quad Cities Sports Commission. He is on the Executive Committee and is the first Vice President of the UI's National I-Club Board of Directors. He is also the incoming president of the National I-Club.
Kevin graduated from the University of Iowa in 1982 and the UI College of Law in 1985.
