Abstracts are now being accepted for research and outreach presentations at this fall's Midwest Rural and Agricultural Safety and Health Forum to be held Nov. 18-19 at the Hampton Inn in Coralville, Iowa.

Application forms for abstracts are available online at www.uiowa.edu/~confinst or by calling 319-335-4141 or toll free 800-551-9029. The deadline for abstracts is July 15.

Sponsorship and exhibit opportunities also are now available for the forum. Visit I-CASH online at www.public-health.uiowa.edu/icash/ for a listing of sponsorship or exhibit opportunities, or call Eileen Fisher at 319-335-4224.

Iowa's Center for Agricultural Safety and Health (I-CASH) and the Great Plains Center for Agricultural Health are joining together to host the forum. The conference will help build and strengthen collaborative efforts and shape future policy for rural and agricultural safety and health.

The focus of the forum is "Creating Partnerships for Agricultural Health and Safety Policy." The forum will include plenary sessions on rural health care services, insurance, roadway safety, community, social and mental health, rural environmental health and safety, and socioeconomics of rural health, with breakout sessions featuring research, outreach, and education on rural and agricultural safety and health.

Visit the I-CASH web site for a tentative agenda and additional details, as they become available. Conference registration materials will be posted on the web site, or are available by contacting Eileen Fisher at eileen-fisher@uiowa.edu.

Iowa's Center for Agricultural Safety and Health was established to enhance the health and safety of Iowa's agricultural community by establishing and coordinating prevention and education programs. The Great Plains Center for Agricultural Health is a comprehensive facility to study and respond to the health and safety issues associated with the practice of agriculture.
