Iowa City Planning Director To Speak At Triangle Club March 21

The University of Iowa Triangle Faculty Club will meet Sunday, March 21 in conjunction with Sunday brunch at the University Athletic Club. Club members will gather at 11:30 a.m. for social time before brunch is served at noon. The featured speaker, Karin Franklin, Iowa City's Director of Planning and Community Development, will begin her presentation on "Iowa City's Downtown" at about 12:45 p.m.

Franklin will discuss what is happening downtown, why it is important for a city to focus on its downtown, and what the downtown contributes to the economic health of the community. She will also share some of the plans for the future of Iowa City's downtown.
