Fruin Named President Of UI Parents Association
Jim Fruin of Bloomington, Ill. has been elected president of the University of Iowa Parents Association board, replacing interim president Darlene Schaller.
Jim and Susan Fruin have been on the Parents Association board since 2002. With three sons attending the University of Iowa, this is their 10th consecutive year as Iowa parents. Their son Rich is a 1999 graduate with undergraduate degrees from the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences and the Tippie College of Business. Geoff received an undergraduate degree from the Tippie College of Business in 2002 and Pat is currently a sophomore in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.
All parents and guardians of undergraduate students are automatically members of the Parents Association, which was established in 1955 as the Dads Association and became the UI Parents Association in 1971. The organization was created to bring about a closer relationship among parents, students and the university.
