UI Dance Department Presents Graduate/Faculty Concert Feb. 12-14

The University of Iowa dance department will present a concert featuring works by faculty members and graduate students at 8 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, Feb. 12-14 in the Space/Place Theatre of UI North Hall.

The program, selected by faculty adjudicators Rebekah Kowal and Kevin Schroder, will be:
-- "This sky will cover you" by dance department chair Alan Sener;
-- "something simple" by graduate student Maureen Miner;
-- "Unspoken" by graduate student Diego Carrasco;
-- "La Luna y el Sur" by faculty member Armando Duarte:
-- "Waiting-" by graduate student Tom Truss;
-- "Possibility" by graduate student Gretchen Alterowitz;
-- "4/5" by visiting faculty member Kevin Schroder;
-- "Lorraine Tumbles" by graduate student Britt Keel; and
-- "Reveal" by graduate student Daniel Stark.

A section of one of the pieces includes nudity. Potential audience members who are concerned about whether the performance is appropriate for them should contact the dance department, 319-335-2228, for additional information.

Admission will be $10 ($5 for UI students and free to children 12 and younger).

Tickets are available in advance from the University Box Office in the Iowa Memorial Union, 319-335-3041 or toll-free 800-346-4401. The fax number is 319-335-3407. Hours are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 5-9 p.m. Sunday.

Any remaining tickets will be placed on sale at the door. In addition to cash and checks, the University Box Office accepts MasterCard, Visa, American Express and Discover cards.

The dance department is part of the Division of Performing Arts in the UI College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.
