University of Iowa News Release

Parents Named To University Of Iowa Parents Association Board
(Name of person/s) from (Hometown) has been selected to serve on the University of Iowa Parents Association for a four-year term beginning Fall 2005.
The University of Iowa Parents Association is a vital link between parents and the University. All parents and guardians of undergraduate students are automatically members of the Parents Association, which is dedicated to addressing needs that affect the quality of a student's experience at UI.
Established in 1955 as the Dad's Association, the organization was transformed into the current UI Parents Association in 1971. It was created to bring about a closer relationship among parents, students and the university. It is a two-way communication link that helps parents learn more about the university and its goals. In turn, this provides a better understanding of the opportunities the university is providing in the education of their students.
The Association's on-campus office serves as a connection to the UI departments and offices that can answer specific questions and respond to the concerns of parents. Contact email@example.com or call 319-335-3557.
