UI Hospitals And Clinics To Honor Volunteers
University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics will honor its more than 1,100 volunteers during National Volunteer Week, April 18-24.
One of the landmark events during the week will be the grand re-opening of the recently re-modeled Rooftop Café at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 20. Volunteer Services operates the café, located on the 8th level of the John Colloton Pavilion.
In addition, a display in the Main Lobby will celebrate the commitment of all volunteers at UI Hospitals and Clinics beginning April 16. Table tents throughout the hospital, special ads in local newspapers and online profiles of volunteers will also feature volunteers who are dedicated to serving patients, families and visitors.
"We place a very high value on the contributions of our volunteers," said Mary Ameche, director of Volunteer Services. "We deeply appreciate all that they do and the key roles that they play in making this one of the best hospitals in America."
