Pharmacy Graduate Students To Host National Meeting
Graduate students in the University of Iowa College of Pharmacy will host the national Pharmaceutics Graduate Student Research Meeting (PGSRM) June 10-12 in Iowa City.
The event, which is sponsored by the UI Division of Pharmaceutics, is expected to draw 300 students, postdoctoral fellows and faculty members in the fields of pharmaceutics, pharmacodynamics, pharmacokinetics and pharmacogenomics from 13 Midwestern colleges and universities. A number of scientists from the pharmaceutical industry also are expected to attend.
The annual event provides a forum for students to present their current research in the field of pharmaceutical sciences and an opportunity for students to meet and interact with their peers, faculty and industry representatives.
This year's PGSRM will feature keynote addresses by Harry Brittian, Ph.D., director of the Center of Pharmaceutical Physics, and 2004 American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists President Mario Rocci, Ph.D. The meeting will also include poster and podium presentations by selected graduate students and postdoctoral fellows.
The registration deadline to attend PGSRM is April 30. For additional information on registration and meeting schedules online, go to www.uiowa.edu/~confinst/pgsrm.
