UI Fall Enrollment Shows Little Change
Enrollment at the University of Iowa for the 2003 fall semester totals 29,745, an increase of 48 students from the fall of 2002, according to the UI Office of the Registrar. The number of new freshmen totals 4,083 in 2003, down 101 from 4,184 in 2002. Total undergraduate enrollment stands at 20,233, down 254 students from 20,487 in 2002.
" Those 4,083 new freshmen reflect the continuing strong demand for the quality education we offer at Iowa," says Lola Lopes, associate provost for undergraduate education. "We believe that the small decline in freshmen reflects our efforts at enrollment management, which will help us maintain our commitment to ensure that these students can get the classes they need to graduate in four years."
