Triangle Club Features 'Objects of Art' Presentation
On Sunday, Oct. 19, the Triangle Faculty Club of the University of Iowa will have its second presentation of the academic year, in conjunction with Sunday brunch at the University Athletic Club. This presentation will feature Mark Ginsberg of M.C. Ginsberg Objects of Art who will be speaking about "Objects of Art."
Ginsberg asks, "Why it is that we put our Picassos on our walls and our Cartiers in our vaults? That certainly wasn't Cartier's intention. He designed every jewelry box with a platform for display." Ginsberg says he would love to see men and women think of their jewelry as objects of art and creatively display them as they do their other sculptures. Ginsberg will also talk about how the industry has changed over the decades.
Triangle Club membership is open to UI faculty, administrators and Iowa City/Coralville/Johnson County community members. Questions may be directed to Dr. Axel Ruprecht, secretary-treasurer, at 319-335-7341.
