UI Engineer Elected Fellow Of International Association

Er-Wei Bai, professor of electrical and computer engineering in the University of Iowa College of Engineering, has been elected a Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), effective Jan. 1, 2004.

Bai, who received his doctorate from the University of California at Berkeley in 1987 and came to the UI in 1987, was elected in recognition of his contributions to system identification and parameter estimation. His current research interests include identification, estimation and signal processing for communication.

The IEEE is a non-profit, technical professional association of more than 380,000 individual members in 150 countries. Through its members, the IEEE is a leading authority in technical areas ranging from computer engineering, biomedical technology and telecommunications, to electric power, aerospace and consumer electronics, among others.
