UI Police Issue Alert After ATM Call
The University of Iowa Police Department is alerting the public that on the morning of March 10, 2003 UI staff at the Iowa Memorial Union (IMU) reported they had received a call from a male claiming to be a police officer with the Iowa City Police.
The caller stated he was conducting a survey on ATM machines and wanted to know if there was a camera over the ATM machine located in the IMU. The Iowa City Police reported they are not conducting such a survey.
If anyone receives a similar call we are advising that he or she give out no information related to security and contact the appropriate law enforcement agency immediately.
