Program To Focus On Complementary, Alternative Medicine
Area residents are invited to hear University of Iowa Health Care experts discuss complementary and alternative medicine at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, March 20 at the Holiday Inn Conference Center, 1220 First Ave. in Coralville.
Nicole Nisly, M.D., UI associate professor (clinical) of internal medicine and director of the Complementary and Alternative Medicine Clinic at UI Hospitals and Clinics, and Jose Ness, M.D., UI assistant professor (clinical) of internal medicine, will present "Therapeutic Healing: Complementary and Alternative Medicine."
The presenters will discuss a broad range of healing philosophies, approaches and therapies that are part of complementary and alternative medicine. Particular attention will be given to herbal medicine and dietary supplements, focusing on women's health and the use of herbals by seniors.
Part of the Health For Your Lifetime series presented by UI Health Care, the program is free and open to the public. Pre-registration is encouraged.
