Y105 FM To Broadcast Children's Miracle Network Radiothon

Radio personalities Chris Farber and Rachel Redford of Y105 FM will host their second annual 105-hour radiothon to support the Children's Miracle Network June 24-28, 2003, at Kennedy Mall in Dubuque.

Proceeds from the event will benefit patients of Children's Hospital of Iowa at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City and its outreach clinics across the state. One hundred percent of all donations to the radiothon remain in the local region to benefit critically ill and injured children. More than 100,000 children receive care at the Children's Hospital of Iowa each year, including thousands from the Tri-state area.

"Last year's radiothon was a very moving experience for us," Farber said. "We are looking forward to this year's broadcast."

"We are very proud of our listeners. They pledged more than $40,000 last year, and I know we can count on them again to help the children and their families who face some very serious challenges," added co-host Redford.

The radiothon will air from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on June 24-27. The program will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, June 28. Farber and Redford will share the stories of former and current patients of the Children's Hospital of Iowa, and the dedicated physicians, nurses and other health care professionals who care for them.

Children's Miracle Network is an international non-profit organization dedicated to helping children by raising funds and awareness for 170 children's hospitals throughout North America.
