Parking Rates Change At Two East Side UI Ramps
Parking rates are changing at two University of Iowa parking facilities most frequently used by visitors to campus.
Beginning Monday, Aug. 4, parking fees at the Iowa Memorial Union (IMU) and North Campus cashiered parking facilities will increase for those entering the ramps early and parking more than three hours, unless they have a special visitor's coupon.
Visitors entering the ramps between 5 a.m. and 9 a.m. on weekdays may park up to three hours at the UI's standard parking rate. After three hours, the rate increases to $2 per hour up to a $12 daily maximum. Visitors wishing to park longer, such as those attending conferences at the IMU, may obtain a visitor parking coupon from offices sponsoring their visit and park all day at the standard rate.
For those entering after 9 a.m., as well as nights and weekends, the standard parking rate will apply.
The UI standard parking rate for the cashiered lots is free for the first 15 minutes, 50 cents for the first hour after 15 minutes and 75 cents for every hour or part of an hour to a maximum of $12. Lost tickets are $12.
