WSUI’s ‘Live From Prairie Lights’ Series Features Poet Brown

The “Live From Prairie Lights” series hosted by Julie Englander on University of Iowa radio station WSUI, AM 910, will feature poet Betsy Brown reading from her National Poetry Series-winning volume, “Year of Morphines,” at 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 6 in the Prairie Lights bookstore at 15 S. Dubuque St. in downtown Iowa City.

Brown’s poems address the suffering and sorrow of cancer, which afflicts her family. Author David Foster Wallace called the book, “A moving, merciless, and incomparably lovely collection.”

A native of Wisconsin, Brown works in corporate communications in Minneapolis.
