UI Museum Of Art Will Host Electronic Music And Intermedia Art Event Feb. 27
The University of Iowa Museum of Art will host "Spatial Intersections," a fusion of electronic music and intermedia art, at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 27 in the museum's Lasansky Room and Faus I Gallery. The event is free and open to the public.
The composers and intermedia artists involved said they will use visual and surround sound elements to "envelop the audience's senses." Live music performances will include sound diffusion, the performing of sculptural instruments and computer-generated music. The music will be complimented by video projections of abstract visual images.
Composers and artists featured include Matthew Butler, Tohm Judson, Jake Hawley, Joseph Dangerfield and Joao Castro Pinto.
The UI Museum of Art, located on North Riverside Drive in Iowa City, is open noon to 10 p.m. Thursdays. Admission is free. Public metered parking is available in UI parking lots west and north of the museum.
