WRAC Presents Event Planning Workshop Feb. 18

The Women's Resource and Action Center at the University of Iowa will present "Planning Events for Social Change," from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 18 in the Michigan Room of the Iowa Memorial Union.

The session is one of several workshops being offered as part of WRAC's Social Change Training Program.

Activists are frequently in the role of planning a broad range of events, from intimate small group discussions to outdoor rallies. This workshop will provide step-by-step techniques for planning events, including publicity and marketing, audience analysis, technical and facility needs, fundraising, and other important
aspects of successful events. The workshop will be facilitated by Laura McLeran, manager of the Iowa Memorial Union Event and Guest Services; and Laurie Haag, program developer at the Women's Resource and Action Center.

There is a $10 fee to attend the workshop; scholarships are available. Childcare may be available for the event; please request by Feb. 11. Participants must pre-register by Friday, Feb. 14.
