UI To Host 7th Annual International Day: Human Rights Conference
The 7th Annual International Day: Human Rights Conference for area middle and high school students will be held Nov. 5 on the University of Iowa campus.
The event will open with a human rights keynote address followed by interactive large group activities and small group workshops. UI faculty, staff, and students will facilitate the workshops. A catered lunch will again be provided at no charge to students and their teachers.
The conference is planned and sponsored by the following UI offices and departments: College of Education, International Programs, Center for Human Rights, Office of the Associate Provost for Health Sciences, Office of Affirmative Action and the Office of Admissions. In addition, the following organizations provided sponsorship: The Stanley Foundation, Iowa City Human Rights Commission, Grant Wood Area Education Agency, and Iowa City Community School District.
