UI Police Make Arrest In Reported Sexual Assault
University of Iowa Department of Public Safety arrested an Oskaloosa man early Sunday morning, Aug. 24 in connection with the reported attempted sexual assault of a UI student in one of the residence hall bathrooms.
Police responded to the assault report at 1:04 a.m. Sunday and after an initial investigation filed a charge of kidnapping in the third degree, which encompasses the intent to commit sexual abuse (Section 710.1/710.4 in the State Code of Iowa), against Keith T. Hilson, 19, of 201 True Blood Ave., Oskaloosa, Iowa.
Hilson, who is not a UI student, is being held in the Johnson County Jail on a $13,000 cash bond.
If convicted, Hilson faces a fine of $1,000 to $10,000 and up to 10 years in prison.
