Geneva Campus Ministry Announces 2003-04 Finding God At Iowa Speakers
Seven speakers and a panel discussion will highlight the 2003-04 Finding God at Iowa luncheon series sponsored by UI's Geneva Campus Ministry.
Begun seven years ago, the popular lunch forum is designed to stimulate members of the UI community to thoughtfully consider how one's faith commitment can contribute to either theory or practice of one's academic discipline or work. The hour-long forums start at noon on the first Friday of each month at the River Room #1 of the Iowa Memorial Union, except for November and March, when they will be held on the second Friday.
Admission is free and open to the public, although participants must provide their own lunches.
The speakers for the 2003-2004 forums are:
September 5: Benjamin Hunnicutt, professor of leisure studies
October 3: Kenneth Tse, assistant professor of music
November 14: Shane Scott, Pfizer Pharmaceuticals and former associate clinical professor of pharmacy
December 5: Panel Discussion: "Christian Civility in a Pluralistic Society;" Arnold Andersen, professor of psychiatry; William Klink, professor of astronomy and physics; Stephen Swanson, professor of music. Moderated by Cary Covington, associate professor of political science.
February 6, 2004: Mary Wilson, professor of internal medicine
March 12, 2004: Stacy Coffman, infection control professional
April 2, 2004: A. Denita Gadson, postdoctoral fellow, School of Journalism and Mass Communication

The Finding God at Iowa lunch forum is a program of the Geneva Campus Ministry at the University of Iowa. It is designed to complement the well-known Geneva Lecture Series which brings speakers to the UI campus to speak on a wide variety of issues from a Judeo-Christian perspective and is supported by nearly 20 Roman Catholic, mainline and evangelical churches and student organizations in the Iowa City/Coralville area.
