Nominees Sought For Faith And Learning Award
The Geneva Lecture Committee at the University of Iowa is seeking nominees for its seventh annual Faith and Learning Award, presented to an educator who fosters an awareness of the relevance of the Christian faith to the academic endeavor.
The nominee must be a past or present member of the University of Iowa community. The task of integration can be accomplished in a variety of ways including teaching, mentoring, research, writing, speaking and involvement in the programs of Christian organizations. The recipient of this award is a person who has one or more of these activities that the life of the mind is an important context for the service of God.
Last year's award was given to Eleanore McClelland, former associate dean of the College of Nursing at the University of Iowa and a nationally-recognized nursing educator. Previous award winners include James Martins '97, Marvin Lynch '98, George Forell '99, Marilynne Robinson '00, Paul Heidger '01.
