Writers' Workshop Authors Featured on WSUI's 'Iowa Talks'

Three established authors who teach in the Iowa Writers' Workshop will discuss the program and the craft of writing on an upcoming edition of "Iowa Talks" on WSUI, the University of Iowa's public radio station.

Authors Ethan Canin, Marilynne Robinson and Chris Offutt will talk with host Julie Englander Thursday, May 8 at 10 a.m. on WSUI 910 AM.

The Iowa Writers' Workshop recently received the prestigious National Humanities Medal, presented by the U.S. government to honor America's leaders in the humanities. Only one organization has been honored in the past -- all the other honorees have been individuals -- and the Iowa Writers' Workshop is the first university-based organization to be honored.

Listeners are invited to call in with comments and questions at 466-9100 locally, or toll free 1-866-780-9100 or email your comments and questions to wsui@uiowa.edu or send a fax to 319-335-6116.
