UI History Professors Host Forum On Iraq War April 10
A group of University of Iowa professors has organized a Forum on the War in Iraq to be held Thursday, April 10, in conjunction with a nationwide teach-in sponsored by a group called Historians Against the War. The UI session, which will be moderated by Paula Michaels, assistant professor of history, will include opening remarks by three other history professors and a graduate student followed by an open forum for questions and discussion.
The forum begins at 4:30 p.m. in Lecture Room 2 Van Allen Hall. UI history professors Colin Gordon, Elizabeth Heineman, and David Schoenbaum along with Nat Godley, a graduate student in history, will speak at the forum.
More than 30 other colleges and universities nationwide have organized forums as part of this nationwide event. Historians Against the War was formed in January at the Annual Meeting of the American Historical Association in Chicago.
Individuals with disabilities are encouraged to attend all University of Iowa sponsored events. If you are a person with a disability who requires an accommodation in order to participate in this program, please contact the department of history in advance at 335-2299.
