Krispy Kreme sales to benefit Children's Miracle Network

Children's Miracle Network supporters will sell Krispy Kreme doughnuts on Friday, Oct. 18, from 7 to 11 a.m. in the atrium lobby on the first level of the John Colloton Pavilion in University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.

Krispy Kreme is donating the doughnuts. The "Original Glazed" delicacies will cost $1 a piece and $10 per dozen. All proceeds will be donated to the Children's Miracle Network to benefit patients of Children's Hospital of Iowa.

Following the sale, pediatric patients will decorate additional doughnuts at 1:30 p.m. in the Activities Therapy Gym on the first level of the John Pappajohn Pavilion.

Children's Miracle Network is an international nonprofit organization dedicated to generating funds and awareness programs to benefit children treated at 170 children's hospitals throughout the United States and Canada. Its hallmark is that 100 percent of locally generated donations stay in the local area to benefit patients at the local children's hospital. To date, Children's Miracle Network has raised more than $2 billion for children's hospitals. The network also includes 75 corporate sponsors, 200 television stations and more than 135 radio stations.

Children's Hospital of Iowa at UI Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City is the state's longest-serving children's hospital. More than 100,000 children receive care from pediatric specialists at Children's Hospital of Iowa and its statewide network of outreach clinics each year.
