Presidential search committee schedules campus visits for December
The University of Iowa Presidential Search and Screen Advisory Committee
has announced that it plans to invite candidates for the presidency of the
University of Iowa to campus the weeks of Dec. 9 and Dec. 16.
The search committee at its Nov. 19 meeting created subcommittees to conduct
off-campus interviews of candidates for the presidency, said Jonathan Carlson,
UI law professor and search committee chairman. Following the completion of
the off-campus interviews, the committee will invite several candidates to
campus, he said.
The Board of Regents, State of Iowa appointed the 26-member committee in
June to assist with the search for a successor to Mary Sue Coleman, who left
the UI on Aug. 1 to become president of the University of Michigan. Former
UI President Willard Sandy Boyd is serving as interim president.
