Nursing classification and informatics conference to be held June 23-26
The University of Iowa College of Nursing will host the fourth annual Institute
on Nursing Informatics and Classification June 23-26 in Iowa City. The institute
will present the latest developments in the standardized nursing languages
of Nursing Interventions Classification (NIC) and Nursing Outcomes Classification
(NOC) as well as cutting edge content in nursing informatics. The due date
for early registration is May 28.
Institute content includes information on the interface of nursing informatics
and classification. Emphasis will be placed on the actual use of standardized
language in clinical and educational settings. Developments, implementation
and clinical evaluation of NIC and NOC classification datasets will be discussed.
Field visits to clinical implementation sites and dialogue with developers
and users from various settings will be available. Keynote addresses will
be given by John Ware, CEO of Quality Metric Incorporated, and Charles Inlander,
president of Peoples Medical Society.
Nurses and nursing administrators interested in designing, implementing
and evaluating nursing information systems and those interested in learning
