UI Press authors Leader, Lueth read at Prairie Lights

Poet Mary Leader will read from "The Penultimate Suitor" (University of Iowa Press) Tuesday, March 12, and writer Elmar Lueth will read from "No Such Country: Essays Toward Home” (UI Press) Thursday, March 14 at Prairie Lights Bookstore, 15 S. Dubuque Street, Iowa City. Both readings begin at 8 p.m.

Leader won the UI Press' 2000 Iowa Poetry Prize for "The Penultimate Suitor," called an "ambitious and inventive collection" by The New York Times Book Review, which also regards Leader as a writer who "lays bare her most personal reflections."

"No Such Country" is the second volume in Sightline Books: The Iowa Series in Literary Nonfiction. The UI Press praises "No Such Country" as a series of autobiographical essays in which the idea of home is constantly shifting, both geographically and psychologically.

"The Penultimate Suitor" and "No Such Country: Essays Toward Home" are available at bookstores or directly from the UI Press, 1-800-621-2736, or by contacting megan-scott@uiowa.edu, or visit www.uiowa.edu/uiowapress
