MEDIA ADVISORY:

CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL OF IOWA TO HOST PATRIOTIC 'HAPPY HATS' EVENT

Patients and staff members of the Children's Hospital of Iowa will participate in a special event honoring our nation's birth beginning at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 3, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.

Representatives of Happy Hats for Kids, a national nonprofit organization based in California, will distribute red, white and blue, felt stovepipe hats to pediatric patients, their families and the physicians and nurses who care for them.

The Children's Hospital of Iowa at UI Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City is the state's longest-serving children's hospital. More than 100,000 children receive care at the Children's Hospital of Iowa and its statewide network of outreach clinics each year.

The event will take place in the Beauty Shop on the 4th level of the General Hospital. For assistance in covering this story, please contact Tom Moore at (319) 356-3945.
