NCDA Names UI College Of Education's Jepsen A Fellow

The National Career Development Association (NCDA) has named David A. Jepsen, a professor in the College of Education's Division of Counselor Education, an NCDA Fellow.

The award, bestowed by NCDA President Roger Lambert, was granted in appreciation for Jepsen's "significant contributions to the career development profession" and support of the NCDA.

Jepsen has been affiliated with the NCDA for more than 40 years. He was president of the organization from 1989 to 1990 and served as editor of the NCDA's professional journal, The Career Development Quarterly, for six years. Prior to being named a Fellow, Jepsen received two awards from the NCDA, including its prestigious Eminent Career Award.

His research interests include career development, career counseling and school counseling, and he has taught courses ranging from Career Guidance And Job Placement to Vocational Psychology.

The National Career Development Association (NCDA) is a division of the American Counseling Association (ACA). The mission of NCDA is to promote the career development of people throughout their lives. To achieve this mission, NCDA provides service to the public and professionals involved with or interested in career development, including professional development activities, publications, research, public information, professional standards, advocacy, and recognition for achievement and service.

The University of Iowa College of Education, founded in 1872, was the nation's first permanent college-level department of education.
